Pikes Market

5 am wake up call… neither of us could sleep. We laid in bed until 9ish it was so nice to hold each other and talk about life! We got ready and went to eat at IHOP. Jay looked at the map and had a plan. We went down to Pikes Market and took all kinds of pictures. We walked and walked and walked. It was a little chilly in the morning. After our cup of Starbucks we were all warmed up and ready to go. We picked up some souvenirs for the kids. We went back to the Hotel for a quick nap and headed to church. I found a church on-line to visit. It felt like home. They had the youth mixed with in the adults and the youth Pastor spoke about John the Baptist and what made him different from the other prophets. One thing he talked about was John the Baptist had purpose. What is your purpose? It was really good. Worship was amazing. We really felt at home with the youth leading worship. We got back to the Hotel and went to subway and watched “Fire Proof” with Jake and Mindi. Jay’s friend, brother, son. Not sure what to call him! We just love them! Went to bed at 2am… it was a very long, yet amazing day!

Snoqualmie Falls

Jay got up at 8am to get ready for a job interview in St. Peter, MN. I stayed in the bedroom and prayed during that time. We have been patient for Jay’s promotion. We want God’s best and we know that God’s timing is perfect. If he were to get the job he would start when he gets back from this tour. 12:30pm we met up with Jake and Mindi and Ryan and Savahna. We drove to “Snoqualmie Falls” we ate at a little cafĂ© before we reached the falls. It was a lot of fun trying to get down the hill to the base of the falls, we of course did not follow the path they provided. After a few… almost face plants, we made it! The Guys were so sweet to offer to walk back up the hill and get the cars so the ladies wouldn’t have to. All of us came back to our room and hung out for a little while and then we went to Best Buy for some electronic stuff. We ate at Chipotles. The two couples joined us again in our little living area. Jay and I were able to pray for Ryan and Savahna. We believe for God to move in their lives.

We slept in until like 9am! We got ready and did a little shopping. We ate at Red Lobster and came back to the Hotel and relaxed. 6:30pm and Ryan and Savahna came and got us to go to the Space Needle. It was my dream date. It was nice to walk along the bay area. It really was amazing to be up in the Space Needle during the sunset. Christina you would have loved it! We walked about 30 or so blocks that night. My feet hurt in flip flops.. guess I wasn’t thinking. Jay and I purchased a bottle of wine from the Needle. We are going to keep it until he comes home! We stopped at a Sports Bar and Restaurant to eat. They had the most amazing burgers EVER! They had Larry Bird’s jersey on the wall, signed and framed… Jay was tempted to buy it I could see it in his eyes! Once we got back to our room; we were exhausted. I know I did not hear Jay snore once! I was so tired!

Our last day in Seattle, WA

“Our last day together” I staged the room to get a few pictures. Then I started to cry. My crying outbursts lasted off and on though-out the day and into the evening…
We got ready and headed into Fort Lewis “the base” for some t-shirts for the boys. I had an opportunity to meet one of the Generals that will be talking care of this mission. It was really nice to visit with him. Jay and I ate lunch at a Chinese Restaurant.. Where Jay ate some creepy crawlers that literally made me GAG.. “not even funny Harmon” YUCK! We drove down to the area where Jay used to scuba dive, back in 1981. We did some more walking and sight seeing. It was so nice to be together, talk, laugh and just be! We went back to the hotel; Jay took a nap while I uploaded the trip pictures on the computer. We just relaxed and watched movies until 9:30pm and then Jay took me to the airport… I felt as though my heart was being ripped out of my chest, I cannot describe it any other way! I pretty much cried all the way home and at my sisters and at church… I landed in Minnesota at 6am. Got home around 8am and went to church to get my babies!

I am so glad to have had the opportunity to go out to Seattle. It is an amazing city. It is so clean and very beautiful to say the least. Our time together was absolutely perfect!

much better today... whew!

Today was a good day.. I kinda know what Ester went through before she met the king. I had my nails done today and eyebrows waxed. hair cut in a few days along with a pedicure... all for Jay! (well, I like it too) Its been fun, in many ways it feels like we are dating. We have had a chance or two to talk on the phone for hours about nothing. I feel like a teenager in that aspect! too funny! The stress level has dropped and we are all doing good.. We are all still fighting this virus. I have had a sore throat all week. I think I might go to the doc tomorrow. Andrew is back home and working construction. Praise God he found a job for the summer! things are busy. Reign can now say each one of our names. She is so cute! Tyler is driving everywhere and is so good with his little sister. Caleb is an amazing helper he sees stuff that needs to be done and does it without being told mom likes that! God is good!

We need you to be praying....

This last week has been VERY FRUSTRATING for me (Nancy) to say the least. During these times I so desperately wish I hade a Mom and a Dad to help. (with the little things) But Praise God, He is the FATHER to the FATHERLESS. Sometimes it would be nice to have something ~ someone tangible. For all of you that have parents I am not the one to complain to about them… I DO NOT HAVE THEM!... LOVE your parents and THANK them for all that they do for you!! They are NOT to be taken for granted! "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you." Exodus 20:12

Jay and I have both been dealing with this confusion and communication issues. NOT WITH EACH OTHER, however with other people around us. A friend of mine reminded me that Jay is going to Babylon! Talk about confusion?! Prayer is vital!

I am really seeking God about doing a 10 month fast. Please be interceding for me. I am not sure what? or how? This will turn out. I really feel that I have to do this. When I am not fasting or when I skip a day of prayer I can definetley feel it.

This week I have not spent the time with the Lord, that I like to. Reign has been sick for the last 10 days I took her in to the Doctor this morning and I told him she has a sinus infection… of course mommy knows best, and he gave her the meds, and out the door we went. Tyler was sick Friday and Saturday and now Caleb is sick. My time with God has been filled with SICK KIDS. No wonder I feel like I am loosing my mind! Good Grief!

Please PRAY for:
Our health ~ "For I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your wounds, declares the LORD." Jeremiah 30:17
Sound mind, and peace for me ~ "In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O LORD, make me to dwell in safety." Psalm 4:8
Confusion to leave.
Good communication with those around Jay and I.
Ministry opportunities in Seattle, God has planned it, we will obey Him!
For the kids while I am gone for six days:
Safety ~ "The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever." Psalm 121:7-8
Bless those that will be preparing meals for the Andrew and Tyler. Bless those that are caring for Caleb and Reign.

Jay has been gone for 46 days!

Only 319 days to go!...
better yet only a FEW DAYS UNTIL WE SEE EACH OTHER IN SEATTLE, YIPPEE!!

Last week I went to the FRG meeting, the Family Readiness Meeting in Inver Grove Heights. They talked about what to do if a soldier is hurt or dies while on duty.
There were a few ladies that were emotional. It is valuable information and I was looking forward to hearing about the process. One thing I did not know is that 99 percent of the time when you hear of injuries or of a fatality on the news, the family is notified before it actually hits the news. Of course there is that one percent that leaks out. However I felt like I can at least watch the news and not worry. I made a few connections with a few other ladies.

Jay is keeping busy getting everybody ready to head to Iraq. The last few Sundays he has been able to kick back and relax a little bit so that has been good for him. He says that he is enjoying the rain, he sees the sun about every 4-5 days.

Make sure no letters get sent to the Ft. Lewis address after April 1, 2009. Everyone that we know should have the new APO address. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANYTHING TO THE APO ADDRESS UNTIL APRIL 10, 2009. E-mail Nancy or call for the address if you did not receive it. thank you!

OUR VERSE FOR TODAY:
Psalm 145:18-20
The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. The LORD watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

Jay and the Gov. "The Longest Ball Competition"

Today March 24th there was a golf outing and lunch with a few of the troops and Tim Pawlenty. Jay was able to meet up with the Gov, in the chapel just before he left Ft. Lewis... they shook hands, a quick picture, and a few brief words!

Jay took fifth place in the Longest Ball Competition. He won a golf club, of course it was right handed! maybe he can exchange it for a left handed club in Iraq! some how I doubt that though. The picture above is of the top 5!

some photos of Jay and misc...

Jay has finally had a few hours for himself, He got out and played some b-ball. He said "he was the only white guy on the court" I am so Glad he was able to get outa the office!

We have been able to web cam quite a bit it seems this last week. The boys played some Internet games with Jay like Chinese checker and hang man. Our technology is so amazing. It was just like a family game night. We told Jay next time we'll make the popcorn! For Jay, and I it is really hard to say goodbye and then go to bed without each other. "an emptiness" during this time we open up the Word and are reminded of God's promises. Deuteronomy 31:8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

Jay was in Ft. Lewis when he first signed up with the National Guard in the early 1980s. The barracks where he stayed is still there, Along with other memorabilia. I posted a few pictures... one of the vest that Jay wore in Korea, you can see a big difference if you notice the vest that Jay is wearing while sporting those amazing glasses! (I feel like I'm MC~ing a fashion show) I need to get some more information about the other photos and then I'll post more later!

Tyler and I went to Menards to pick up a few things we needed around the house, for this spring. I tell ya it was really hard to be in there without Jay. It may sound weird.. however I'm never in there without him.. of course I got a little teary eyed. Tyler still gives me those looks like are you ok?? or what??

The boys have been staying busy with school and church activities. On Sunday eve, we go to the youth Pastors house for prayer. Last Sunday night was amazing. It was so awesome to see Tyler leading the youth. He had an amazing personal experience with God, during this time. "all I can say is it was very cool" hopefully more to come for ALL OF US! This is a season for spiritual growth for this ENTIRE FAMILY. We can all see it, feel it, and desire it!

We are counting down the days when we will see each other in Seattle... 24 to go! It is hard to believe that Jay has been gone for 6 weeks.. 46 more weeks and he will be home!

God gives those that LOVE him the "desires of their hearts".

Last night was a hard night for me "Nancy" Jay, called and I was doing good until he said that he wished he was holding me.. then the flood came, I just could not stop crying. Jay prayed with me on the phone and I felt better, but I was not done crying. It was the first time I have cried since the day at the post office. I guess it had just built up and needed to be released. A half a box of Kleenex later I got outa bed and ventured to the computer room. I noticed that another military wife had found me on the web and we ended up chatting - IM-ing until early this morning.
Earlier during the day I was thinking and praying about how nice it would be to connect with more military wives... "that know Christ". This gal KNOWS CHRIST! and because of her relationship with God we instantly bonded.. God is so amazing!

What NOT to say to military spouses!

This came from some military spouse's heart.. straight to the point, and a good thing for civilians to keep in mind. I agree to most of it! I think it is a little defensive.. however right to the point!

1."Aren't you afraid that he'll be killed?" (This one ranks in at number one on the "duh" list). Of course we're afraid. We're terrified. The thought always lingers at the backs of our minds ---but thanks brilliant, you just brought it back to the front.

2. "I don't know how you manage”. I don't think I could do it."(Is this is intended to be a compliment). Though, it’s just a little annoying. Here's why: it's not like all of us military wives have been dreaming since childhood of the day we'd get to be anxious single moms who carry cell phones with us to the bathroom and in the shower. We're not made of some mysterious matter that makes us more capable, we just got asked to take on a challenging job. So we rose to the challenge and found the strength to make sacrifices.

3."At least he's not in Iraq."
This is the number one most annoying comment for those whose husbands are in Afghanistan. What do they think is happening in Afghanistan? An international game of golf? Guys are fighting and dying over there.

4."Do you think he'll get to come home for Christmas/anniversary/birthday/ birth of a child/wedding/ family reunion, etc?" Don't you watch the news? No! They don't get to come home for any of these things. Please don't ask again.

5."What are you going to do to keep yourself busy while he's gone?" Short answer: Try to keep my sanity. For those with and without children, we find ourselves having to be two people. That keeps us plenty busy. We do get lonely, but we don't get bored.

6."How much longer does he have until he can get out?"
This one is REALLY annoying to many of us whether our husbands are deployed or not. Many of our husbands aren't counting down the days until they "can" get out. Many of them keep signing back up again and again because they actually love what they do or they VOLUNTEER AGAIN and AGAIN to go back to Iraq b/c there is work that needs to be done.

7."This deployment shouldn't be so bad, now that you're used to it." Sure, we do learn coping skills and its true the more deployments you've gone through, the easier dealing with it becomes. And we figure out ways to make life go smoother while the guys are gone. But it never gets "easy" and the bullets and bombs don't skip over our guys just because they've been there before. The worry never goes away.

8."My husband had to go to Europe for business once for three weeks. I totally know what you're going through." OK. Do NOT equate your husband's three week trip to London/Omaha/ Tokyo/etc. with a 12-15 month or more deployment to a war zone. Aside from the obvious time difference, nobody shot at your husband or tried to blow him up with an I.E.D., your husband could call home pretty much any time he wanted to, he flew comfortably on a commercial plane, slept between crisp white sheets and ate well, paying for everything with an expense account. There is no comparison. We do NOT feel bonded to you in the slightest because of this comment and, if anything, we probably resent you a bit for it. Comparing a 12 month combat deployment to a few weeks business trip is like comparing a ford taurus with mercedes convertible. "Wow you must miss him?" This one also gets another big "duh". Of course we miss our men. There are some wives who do not and they're now divorced.

10."Where is he exactly? Where is that?" I don't expect non-military folks to be able to find Anbar Province on a map, but they should know by now that it's in Iraq. Likewise, know that Kabul and Kandahar are in Afghanistan. Know that Muqtada al Sadr is the insurgent leader of the Mahdi Army in Iraq and that Sadr City is his home area. Know that Iran is a major threat to our country and that it is located between Afghanistan and Iraq. Our country has been at war in Afghanistan for seven years and at war in Iraq for five years. These basic facts are not secrets, they're on the news every night and in the papers every day ---and on maps everywhere.

11."Well, he signed up for it, so it's his own fault whatever happens over there. Yes, ignorant, he did sign up. Each and every day he protects your right to make stupid comments like that. He didn't sign up and ask to be hit by anything; he signed up to protect his country. Oh, and by the way, he asked me to tell you that "You're welcome." He's still fighting for your freedom.

12."Don't you miss intamacy?”I couldn't do it!" hmmm, no I don't miss sex. I’m a robot. seriously... military spouses learn quickly that our relationships must be founded on something greater than sex. We learn to appreciate the important things, like simply hearing their voices, seeing their faces, being able to have dinner together every night. And the hard truth is, most 'normal' relationships probably couldn't withstand 12 months of sex deprivation.

13. "Well in my opinion..... " Stop right there. I didn't ask for you your personal political opinions. Hey, I love a heated political debate, but not in the grocery store, not in Jamba Juice, not at Nordstrom, not in a bar when I'm out with my girls trying to forget the war, and CERTAINLY NOT AT WORK. We tell co-workers about deployments so when we have to spend lunch hours running our butts off doing errands and taking care of the house, dog, and kids, they have an understanding. We do not tell co-workers and colleagues because we are giving an invitation to ramble about politics or because we so eagerly want to hear how much they hate the President, esp. while we're trying to heat up our lean cuisines in the crappy office microwaves.) Last but not least....

14. "OH, that's horrible...I' m so sorry!" He's doing his job. Don't be sorry. Be appreciative and please take a moment out of your comfortable American lives to realize that our soldiers fight the wars abroad so those wars stay abroad.

The Photo above is of the humvee roll over training.

Jay got his leave, I will be flying out to see him sometime in April. Just in time for our 19th anniversary. We are so excited! just us! whoot whoot.. No children. This will be the first in a very long time! I am still overwhelmed with the generosity of those from our church.. A very special person gave us some money to put towards my ticket to WA. She simply felt lead to bless us! God is so amazing!

Not sure where to begin.. The boys and I have adjusted, we established our routine. Reign did great when she saw daddy on skype this last time. She was eating mnm's. She shared one with daddy. As Jay took a bite she couldn't figure out why it was still in her hand.. it was really cute.

Jay is still extremely busy... please continue to pray for his health, stamina, patience with the people he is working with. After 4 weeks co-soldiers can kind of wear on a person. Pray that it slows down a little bit for him. He has been able to go to church a few times, so that has been encouraging for him. The cool thing is that The chaplains are going over the book of Daniel in Bible study. The same book the Lord put on my heart to read before Jay left.. We think that's cool! chapter ten spoke volumes to Jay and I the other night! email me and I would love to share more!

On Sunday it occured to me that as Jay and I long to be with each other, spend time with each other, hold each other. Jesus longs to be with us, spend time with us, hold us... in that very same way. He loves us so much, we will truly never be able to comprehend HOW MUCH God loves us. I encourage you to embrace Him this day!

just a .........Quick Update

Time is going by fast for both Jay and I. He has been getting some letters and cards and appreciates them very much.. so thank you to those that are sending him letters. One thing that Jay does like is “Arizona Green Tea with Ginseng and Honey”. So if you want to bless him this would be a great way to do it. By sending him just a little taste of home. They don’t sell it on the base…

I have had a few opportunities to talk to Jay, usually around midnight. He is still very busy and does not get anytime to just sit and relax. (at least not for very long). Jay has had no reactions to the immunizations.. PRAISE GOD, several soldiers have been ill. Pray for their health and stamina. We are praying for God’s favor… and believing for Jay to have some leave time. I would love to be able to go out there to see him before he leaves for Iraq. We hope it works out!

51 ~ weeks

One week down and approximately 51 weeks to go!
My plan is to update the blog once a week. Being diligent is the key.

Jay has been very busy. We have not talked much at all and when we have talked it has been him talking very fast about what just happened and then a quick “I got to go! We were warned to expect this. It seems as though he has been going since he got off the plane. We are praying and believing for peaceful rest and that God will multiply Jay’s hours of sleep. ”supernaturally”

We have sent him a few cards, and his first package of goodies will be mailed today. Last week when I got the boxes from the post office, the lady there showed a genuine concern for “my soldier” I got out of the Post Office just before the tears started and as I got into the van Tyler gave me a weird look.. I told him to get used to it! :-) the tears came... I guess it became my reality!

We have been working on getting into a routine. I expect this to take a couple of weeks. I’m cool with taking our time with this transition.

The boys are amazing… doing so much more than I had ever expected. I pray they keep it up! And trust that they will. Reign is talking and saying a new word or words each day. She kind of freaked out when she first saw Jay on the computer. She WANTED her DADDY NOW! She was kissing the screen, blowing kisses, playing peek-a-boo, waving bye-bye. She was nose to nose to the computer almost the entire time. It was a little over-whelming to say the least and emotional for all of us. whew-wee!

As a stated earlier that one of the way I hear God’s voice is through dreams and visions…
A few weeks ago I had a dream. This is the shortened version for the blog:
I dreamt that a friend of mine Noelle and I purchased an old, very large abandoned farm house together.. Jay was in Iraq during this time and I knew that he would be fine with this decision. (during this dream the kitchen constantly becomes my focus and main concern) The kitchen was huge. I want to get it remodeled so we can have people over to do ministry. It had stainless steel appliances, like an industrial kitchen. It was not useable, the entire house had no electricity or running water, peeling paint and dirty. I wanted to fix up the kitchen first. As we walked into Noelle’s bedroom the Lord said, that “her bedroom needed to take priority”. Her room was unfinished with very little drywall on it, insulation hanging from the ceiling and walls.. In the center of her bedroom was a huge white pillar. It was very evident that this pillar was holding up the ceiling and that it could not be removed.

The kitchen represents:
Ministry, helping people, feeding the babes, new people in Christ, discipling people. Something I love to do.
Noelle represents:
A mighty woman of God, an intercessor, one that has an intimate relationship with Christ.
The bedroom represents:
Intimacy with God, spending time alone with Him, worshipping, reading his word, and praying.

As he led me through the different rooms, He revealed to me that He indeed wants to spend time alone with me and I am NOT to get busy with ministry. The intimacy with him was a priority over the ministry or busy-ness.

I have also been lead to read and study the book of Daniel.
Daniel 5:15; talks about Daniel’s insight, intelligence and outstanding wisdom. God used him to interpret the king’s dream. However what I got out of this verse is that Daniel received insight, intelligence, and outstanding wisdom as he spent time with God. Through out scripture God reveals all the blessings given to us as we SEEK HIM! … “Life is so much easier with the Lord!”

Another thing that God has shown Jay, and I is that this tour is a mission field for Jay. A few weeks ago; one of the guys Jay works with complemented him on his integrity and character. He told Jay, that He has been watching him and can see different things in Jay, like peace and strength ect.. This guy told him that he realized that he cannot do this on his own. He needed God and he wants what Jay has! Praise God! How exciting to share our HOPE, comfort, SALVATION, deliverer, GRACE, peace, FORGIVNESS, strength, LOVE, assurance, MERCY, joy, LIFE and so much more…. Of who Jesus Christ! Is….With those that need HIM!

We have a busy weekend planned… 2 baby showers, JBQ meet in Willmar, Skiing trip in Mankato, a wedding in Belle Plaine, and a family readiness meeting in Inver Grove Heights. I cannot do it all, some things will just have to give. :-)

Praying for healthy kids as Tyler has been ill all week!

We are proud of "OUR SOLDIER"
One Famliy Under God ~ Undivided!

Jay's Departure

Our wake up call was about 5:30 a.m. Caleb and I brought Jay down to the armory as Tyler stayed at the hotel with Reign. It was busy with t.v. reporters and family member showing up with their soldiers. We were not quite sure if we should go in or not. Jay gave us a goodbye hug and kiss and into the armory he went. Caleb and I sat in the van for about a half hour and Jay decided to come out for another good-bye hug. After that we decided to join him inside. Jay quickly got into formation and after role call the Patriot Guard did a short presentation... I felt so proud to be there watching the soldiers (my soldier) as I was looking around at different people and their reactions I noticed a young mom holding a little girl smaller than Reign and rocking a newborn in the car seat next to her. My heart just ached for her, I wanted to take her home with me. Caleb and I left about 7:30 a.m. and Jay was on the bus by 8 a.m. and on the plane by 10 a.m.

God is faithful and is using Jay exactly how it has been spoken over him through prayer... yesterday was a testimony to that. details later! WE ARE SO EXCITED!
Be praying ~ believing for NO SIDE EFFECTS FROM THE IMMUNIZATIONS.. anthrax, typhoid and small pox. We are sad and are going to miss each other something terrible, however we know that God has amazing plans for all of us this next year!

The Departure Ceremony

The Departure Ceremony was last night at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium. It was good, yet especially long with a one year old on our laps. Two of Jay’s sisters: Jan and Judy, sister-in-law Julie and niece Angie came up to see Jay off along with my two sisters Julie and Jodie, Bob and Lois “grandpa and grandpa”, The Langworthy Family, Joanna, and Hannah… close friends of ours. It was nice to have all of you there with us. We chose to skip out of the free dinner, after sitting so long with Reign I was ready to leave! My sister Julie took Reign home with her so we could have a quiet dinner out with the boys.. Yeah for aunties! THANKYOU. We ended the night with dessert at my sister’s house in Bloomington.

Tonight….. Is just not enough time to say good-bye. This is the hard part… :(
Next Sunday begins our count down to Jay’s return… only 52 weeks!

Bless the Lord, O' my soul!

For years I have prayed that God would keep Jay home from this war. God has been so faithful. 3 times when Jay, could have been deployed with a certain unit God, would move him to a different unit. I trusted that God also knew the day and the time he was going to be deployed, and that we knew God’s plan is perfect. I trusted that when the time came, I would have total peace. I don’t remember the exact date…However it was a Friday (a weekend that Jay had guards) I was praying and spending time with the Lord, I had this overwhelming feeling to pray for and release any anxiety I had about Jay being deployed. I knew that it was going to be okay. The next afternoon Jay calls and tells me he has been told he will be deploying. Of course I was shocked! I didn’t think it was going to be the NEXT DAY good grief!
God is amazing and He PROTECTS our HEARTS and MINDS!

Psalm 118:24

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

The tears began about midnight last night, after one of the boys had some tension explode. All I could do was cry. Thank you for to those that were praying. This morning I woke up with the song “Bless the Lord” on my heart and Yes, I cried when Jay left this morning. However as soon as I started to sing... The sadness lifted.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

The last few days we have been having a blast with close friends.. "family" starting with the Electric night, praying with the veterans at church, Red Lobster, The youth group... we have had so much fun with everyone! We love each of you so much! thanks to all of you that have offered your help and unconditional love and support while Jay is gone. I was truly blessed when a certain someone came up to me with his numbers and said, "if you need anything call me or my wife. If I cannot help or fix it we will make sure someone can". THANK YOU!

Sunday February 8, 2009

We are going to have a little send off for Jay at church on Sunday Feb. 8th. @ 10:30 a.m. We would love to have as many of you there that can be there. I know it would mean a lot for Jay and our family to see you all! :0)
We have been able to spend some quality time together these past few days. It has been very good. Jay goes back to work this week on Monday and Tuesday and then he will hopefully be home the rest of the week. I will post his snail mail address once He is landed in Washington. Things have a tendancy to change with the military so I will wait until then... so many soldiers have said even though technology is wonderful with e-mail and such... letters and cards still mean more!

The picture of Andrew and Jay wrestling is in night vision... pretty cool huh?
